Ms. Sanchez-Rivét joined Cuddy & McCarthy in November 2015, and has fourteen years of experience in the practice of law and over 20 years of experience in government and legislative issues. Ms. Sanchez-Rivét’s law practice focuses generally on business, government affairs and regulatory matters in New Mexico and Arizona. She also represents clients in employment matters and other civil litigation. She has experience in public finance, real estate and corporate transactions.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Sanchez-Rivét ran her own firm, Sanchez Legal Solutions. She was formerly the CEO of the New Mexico Green Chamber of Commerce. Prior to that position, Ms. Sanchez-Rivét was a staff attorney at the New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department. She worked for five years as a staff attorney with the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) where she worked primarily on energy issues, environmental siting and renewable energy transmission in New Mexico and Arizona.

Ms. Sanchez-Rivét is a regular panelist on the TV show New Mexico In Focus on New Mexico PBS (KNME). She was appointed by Governor Bill Richardson in June 2009 to serve on the Board of Directors for the NM Renewable Energy Transmission Authority (RETA) and served as RETA’s Projects Committee Chair through July 2011.

Ms. Sanchez-Rivét holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from The University of Arizona (1999) and a Master of Public Administration degree, with a focus in public and nonprofit finance and local government, from The University of Arizona (2001).  She earned her Juris Doctorate from the UCLA School of Law (2004).

Ms. Sanchez-Rivét is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico.  She is a member of the State Bars of New Mexico and Arizona.  She is also a member of the New Mexico Hispanic Bar Association, the America Bar Association’s Section on Environment, Energy and Resources Law, the National Association of Bond Lawyers, and is the Chair-elect on the Board of the New Mexico State Bar’s Natural Resources, Energy and Environmental Law Section.
