Zoning and Land Use
Cuddy & McCarthy’s land use attorneys understand the complexities of real estate projects, from conception to construction.  We work with owners on commercial, multi-family and residential projects of all sizes to assist in securing necessary government approvals in municipalities and counties in Northern New Mexico.  In doing so, we apply a thorough understanding of governing codes, procedures and general land use law gained from years of experience. We regularly represent clients in master plan and plat approvals, subdivisions, rezonings, variances, historic design review and annexation proceedings.
We also understand that the success of a project often rests upon cooperation among many involved parties, including neighbors, community associations, environmental, conservation and historic preservation groups, and the staff, boards and elected officials of governing authorities.  Our land use attorneys are actively involved in the community.   This strong foundation of experience brings the credibility and good judgment necessary to guide and support clients through the process of navigating a project through the land use and entitlement process.
Unfortunately, some land use cases result in litigation. Our attorneys have the knowledge and experience to assist clients before the courts, both on behalf of project owners and, from time to time, on behalf of those opposing certain developments.
