Biography

Mr. McCarthy was a member of the firm of White, Koch, Kelly & McCarthy, P.A. (formerly Gilbert, White & Gilbert) since 1963. Mr. McCarthy is a graduate of the University of New Mexico Law School (1960), served three years in the United States Army JAGC and commenced private practice in 1963. He is admitted to practice in New Mexico; the United States District Court, New Mexico; the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Military Court of Appeals, Washington, D.C.

His practice includes real estate transactions and litigation, quiet title litigation, corporate, and all aspects of commercial transactions and commercial litigation, general civil law with an emphasis in commercial and residential real estate transactions. He has extensive experience litigating title to land in New Mexico, especially in Mexican land grants. He is general counsel to Kit Carson Electric Cooperative, Inc.  His clients are involved in land subdivision, land development, ranching, recreation, commercial leasing of real estate, restaurant and bar operations, and condominiums.
